OUR STORY | FAITH

OUR STORY

Our story began in March of 1961, with a small gathering in the home of Terry and Virginia Hart. God was at work, and our first Sunday services were held on Easter Sunday, April 23, 1961, at Point Pleasant Elementary School. With the assistance of the North American Missions Board (NAMB) the current grounds were purchased in February 1962. At that time the church building consisted of a little house and a chicken coop!

Since then our FAITH Family has grown and grown. In the middle of it all, we have never lost our focus on children and the rotating "next generation". In 1981, we opened the doors to our Child Development Center (CDC), which has become one of the most sought after preschools in Anne Arundel County.

Then in the spring of 1999, we continued our commitment to bring health to families by breaking ground on our Family Life Center. The gym within this addition gave us the tremendous opportunity to expand our CDC and start our AWANA and Upward Sports ministries.

AWANA and Upward have continued our reputation of creating first-class, detailed, and organized opportunities for your family to be loved by Jesus.

Also over the last 30 years, we have been planting churches in Tamil Nadu, India.  God has allowed that effort to grow into more than 46 churches, 2 mission centers, and a child sponsorship program. Thousands of believers gather under roof in India by God’s grace.  They are our family.

Throughout the decades, our focus on families has given us a tremendous church family of our own. We are a beautiful multi-generational church worshiping in different heart-languages, trudging through different stages of life, but finding strength in all of it together through our focus on Jesus.
